Commemoration of Dr. King and his support for working people. Dr. King was an ardent supporter of organized labor and maintained relations with several unions that in turn offered some support to the Civil Rights Movement. Dr. Kings last struggle was in support of striking sanitation workers in Memphis, Tenn.
This year's keynote speaker is Marleine Bastien, Executive Director of Haitian Women of Miami (FANM) and candidate for U.S. House of Representatives from the 17th Congressional District in Florida.
